TODDLERS
It is a pleasure helping toddlers work through any trouble they might be having meeting their milestones of crawling, walking, or talking. Or if they are having a especially tough time in socializing or with their siblings or playmates. They are so busy! Helping them find their way physically, emotionally or socially is a great treat for me!
Other areas of concern with toddlers are:
- Concussions
- Tumbles/ Falls
- Chronic ear infections
- Not sleeping well
- Not eliminating well
- Night Terrors
- Anxiousness
- Stress that accompanies major changes in environment and family
- Improper walking patterns (knees turned inward, one foot turned out while the other is turned in, limping or stumbling)
You may have a toddler that hasn't quite caught up with the rest of his age group, maybe at 1.5 years old, they are not walking yet, or at a year old are not crawling yet.
I have worked with many kids like this for many years and Craniosacral Therapy can be a big assistance to get them going.
Toddler CST Testimonials
“T” had a head injury at age 4, his moods, temper and ability to listen and follow through all changed after that. By age 7 he was being asked to leave school at least once a week due to “acting out”. After his first session with Teresa we made it through a whole week without one call from the school! We have seen her several times over the past months and things just keep getting better."

"My little girl is 3 and just couldn’t make it through the night staying in her own bed. She wasn’t fitting in with the other kids at daycare, and she would have these horrible melt-downs. After seeing Teresa she is much more calm, plays better, and stays in her bed (most of the time)."

This is a time of great change for children. They may be experiencing growth spurts in physical, mental and emotional areas. Sometimes they need a little help moving through them. Craniosacral Therapy helps their nervous systems and their bodies relax and function more efficiently. Integrating nerves and muscle coordination for optimal growth and abilities.
Or there may be a specific area of concern such as:
- Anxiety
- Chronic sinus or ear infections
- Needing ear tubes
- Sleep Problems
- Social shyness or awkwardness
- Digestion and elimination
- Physical clumsiness
- ADD/ADHD signs or symptoms
- Retained Primitive Reflexes
- Hypersensitive to smells (gags at them), taste (spits food out), touch (tags and textures really bother them, sounds (can't be in a loud room, can't stay focused)
Kids love the support they receive with craniosacral therapy treatment, and I really enjoy interacting with them. I have many past clients call and say their child ”wants to come in and get worked on”.
"It has been an inspiring and healing process to work with you. I look forward to much more in the future. Thank you for tending my sweet Charlie deeper into the story of his body. Working with you allowed him to be more connective and expressive with his own personal affectionl For that and much more we are grateful!" Sarah
"My 7 year old was very aggressive with other children, I had a hard time getting him help. I saw a great change in him after just one session with Teresa., We continued on with her for a few more treatments and he is completely different. He can express what he needs instead of just getting angry, I am so thankful that he got some more help."
Beth from Portland
"My son was 8 when I brought him to Teresa. I was a my wits end, early on, his pre-school days were horrible, then later, he was kept back a year in school. I wasn't sure what to do. After his first session with her, he made it through a whole week of me not being called into the school. She has truly made a huge difference in our lives."
Colette S. from Camas, WA
"At 4 years old my daughter was unable to go potty on a regular basis, usually about every 6 - 7 days. I wanted to get her some relief and seeing Teresa has made a huge difference. She is what I would call " regular" now!

This is an especially wonderful yet challenging time in life. Teens can really benefit from craniosacral therapy sessions. It can be difficult times of:
- Anxiety
- Social stresses
- Peer pressures
- Fears of fitting in
- Family difficulties and estrangements
- Depression
- Fears of death and the unknown during this vulnerable developmental stage in life
- Isolation
- Loss of a loved one or friend
- Self-judgement
- Finding autonomy
- and so much more...
As teens go through some of these challenges, their nervous system gets out of balance, which adds more stresses and the loop continues making it harder to find the balance they seek. It is hard to make good choices when we don't feel well or can't see a way forward, craniosacral therapy can help give them a much needed reprieve, get re-set, feel better, then make some changes in other areas of their lives.
Craniosacral Therapy can deeply relax their system and restore that sense of well being and then even a sense of wonder in the world! Getting them on the right track is the key, that may mean we they do craniosacral therapy in addition to other forms of therapy that are helping. Craniosacral therapy can actually assist the other therapies in reaching the desired goals.
I also work quite a bit with teens with Sensory Processing Disorder/ADHD/Behavioral concerns etc. Again, balancing the physical/mental/emotional nervous system can facilitate many wonderful changes.
Special areas to be aware of in the teenage years, of which I am sure you are aware:
First is:
Screen time, computer screen time and specifically gaming changes our brainwaves which can interfere with :
- good decision making
- addictive-like behaviors
- isolation
- mood changes
- learning difficulties
Craniosacral therapy can help re-balance the brain hemispheres after screen-time to bring about positive thoughts, moods, and actions.
Second is:
Retained Primitive Reflexes, these are key in finding out how and why some people are stuck in certain behaviors or physical/structural patterns that are not efficient. (see individual page) For teens to have retained primitive reflexes means that they have spent their "learning" years in a non-optimal functioning body and nervous system. Craniosacral therapy can be beneficial in assisting the integration of these Primitive Reflexes, and creating a positive new way of moving and being in the world.
The Third is:
Movement - and specifically Movement Therapy. Kids and especially teens spend a lot of their day on the computer or sitting and learning (maybe even sitting in a posture that is non-supportive to learning). Science shows that the brains's development and processing IS DEPENDENT ON BODY MOVEMENT. Physical movement keeps the brain stem more active and helps keep the brain hemispheres more balanced. I combine my movement therapies with craniosacral therapy to create a unique and more encompassing treatment.
I love working with kids of all ages (even those past their teens and into adulthood ! )
